Who are the Wolves?

The Wolves are an elite baseball team composed of young men ages 15-18. The Wolves select their players from communities in western Wisconsin. The Wolves compete in the Wisconsin Senior Babe Ruth baseball league and play opponents in this league as well as opponents from other leagues such as American Legion baseball.

The three main criteria that a player must possess to be a Wolf are (1) A desire, sense of respect and passion for the game of baseball (2) An above average level of baseball talent and committment to improvement (3) A desire to take their game to the next level and be successful.

Home Field

The Wolves home field will be somewhere in the Western, WI or Eastern, MN area. Possible sites being discussed are in Hudson, WI, River Falls, WI, Ellsworth, WI, Woodbury, MN, Stillwater, MN, Somerset, WI and others.

Due to field reservation fees, the Wolves will try to play away games the majority of the time to save money and keep playing costs low.

2011 Wolves Tryouts

If you are interested in trying out for the 2011 Western Wisconsin Wolves, please read the requirements below to see if you qualify to participate on the team.

1. You must be born no earlier than 1992. Players born in 1991 are no longer eligible to participate in Senior Babe Ruth baseball.

2. You must reside in one of the following counties of Wisconsin: Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Douglas, Dunn, Eau Claire, Iron, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Price, Rusk, Saint Croix, Sawyer, Taylor, Trempealeau or Washburn

3. You must be able to committ to 75% or greater attendance to games (season runs from early June to late July).
